Can you believe it… 25 years ago, in 1983, the Cabbage Patch Kids became one of the most sought after toys ever introduced! Coleco’s very first line of Cabbage Patch Kids was met with International acclaim and a frenzy of shoppers. Almost every one you met had stories of an individual hunt for that one of a kind Cabbage Patch Kid. All the major networks and some of the most popular entertainers of the time were talking about “those Cabbage Patch Kids”. The Cabbage Patch Kids graced the cover of Newsweek and appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine and People just to name a few. Lines of shoppers waited in the dark long before stores opened just so they could get a chance to adopt a one of a kind Cabbage Patch Kid.

Following their exciting introduction, the Cabbage Patch Kids have gone on to have many more exciting adventures. They joined the Young Astronaut program, and CPK “Christopher Xavier” took a trip into space on the space shuttle. He now lives at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.. In 1992 and 1996 the Cabbage Patch Kids were selected to be the official mascot for the U.S. Olympic Team. A few years later, they were honored with their own U.S. Postage Stamp. Through all these years, the Cabbage Patch Kids have continued to enjoy the love and friendship of unique individuals like you.

Now, a quarter of a century later, in the fall of 2008, Play Along Toys has introduced the 25th Anniversary Edition of Cabbage Patch Kids. Available for a short time only, these replicas of some of the first Coleco Cabbage Patch Kids are designed to take you back to those first exciting days. If you didn’t find the one you wanted then, now you have a second chance!
